Late Rent Syndrome

Well renters, today is the first of the month.

Yes, that's right, you heard me... the first!

Now don't tell me that you're not aware, I mean, come ON now, you all have jobs, you must certainly have had to write a date on something today at the office, right? Probably you also got paid today, at least if you on that "first and fifteenth" plan.

So my question is this:

Whyyyyyyy are there no checks in my box? (Again?) (Again?)

I know you guys pretty well. I live in the building with you, we hang out in the yard together from time to time, I know you're all just great. Furthermore, I know that you can afford to pay your rent, since you have done so, thankfully, every month.

I FURTHERMORE know that the stupid check is probably sitting on your kitchen table, and perhaps has been for a week or more, but you just "keep forgetting" or you "haven't seen me around and didn't think of it."

At least, that's what you'll tell me on Monday when I email you with a reminder that you should enclose a late fee after the fifth day...

For crying out loud people!

Yes, I know you can and will pay if I remind you. Yes, I can and will pay my mortgage(s) even if you're late.

But dammit, it's kinda RUDE, after all!
