The new Guthrie opens today, hurrah-hurrah.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing theater, or the arts per se... as a matter of fact, the Guthrie Theater is one of the reasons the Rantirator was born in Minnesota rather than Florida... (shiver)

BUT

The building is so damn ugly. Sorry.

Oh, and I love this line from the CVB's Greg Ortale:

Now people will want to come [to Minnesota] just to see the Guthrie and the Walker, and the MIA expansion and the Children's Theatre."

Um, huh? I kinda doubt it, buddy. Nice try though.
